Celebrate Trafalgar Day

Friday 22nd October from 7:00 pm

This year we’re going all patriotic and celebrating Norfolk’s finest son’s victory at the battle of Trafalgar. Joan has come up with a special Great English Menu, featuring such delights as Potted Shrimps, Roast Rib of Beef and Victory Plum Crumble, and as always there will be selection of fine English Ales to choose from.

So batten down the cabin boy, splice the ship’s cat and come & join us on Friday 22nd October. Advance booking is strongly recommended, and you can download a copy of the menu from our main website here

OOOOOooooo —- Spooky!

SAT OCTOBER 30th – Barry gets even more scary then usual!

Rather than a fireworks night party, this year we’re having a Halloween bash. Spooky music, goulish food and a discount if you come in fancy dress.

So if you fancy a bite, let your imagination run wild, order a bloody Mary and get down and dusty for a screamingly good time.

Don’t give up the job yet, but…

£60 winning ticket

The lottery syndicate at the Horse as had a decent win at last. Rather than the usual £10, the 18th September draw threw up a four ball match to the value of sixty drink vouchers. So, no retirement yet, but it’s better than a poke in the eye with a blunt eye-poking-thing.

As there is now over £200 in the pot, we will go for a free renewal next time around.

Barry’s finally got a decent coffee system! The new bean-to- cup machine grinds the beans and makes real coffee fresh for each cup, from espresso to mochalatto via latte, cappuccino and several others. And it’s good coffee. Double espresso and a brandy on the side please.

Bank holiday breakfast

Another bank holiday, another breakfast. It’s a hard life. Glad to say that Chrissy’s breakfast was up to scratch, and as good as ever. More partakers than Barry was expecting, but there was more than enough to go round. Black pudding too, and the baked beans were served separately which was great for those like me wot thinks beans is for supper not brekers.

The Adnams Broadside was bl**dy good too.
